I think ball park $4000
And the 264 ratio would be assuming you cruze in direct gear which is 16th when loaded. It would be about like 3.55 gears if you were in 18th, but running in direct can have a slight fuel mileage advantage if you spend enough time at cruze speed. -
you wont get 7mpg with 2.64's and an 18speed, with that gearing you wont be able to use 18th or 17th unless you want to cruise at a very high speed... I have a W900L with a C15 mxs 550 and 3.25 rears and an RTLO18918B and at 65 mph im reving 1275-1285 with 22.5 tires

The theory is to get it into a "direct" gear. Your not needing 17-18 gear are not an issue.. its getting into a direct drive gear with the lower rpm. If your empty you can sjift up.

Yes he will but he will have to really drive it. Lots of shifting between 16-17th but it can be done. If he is more the get it on the highway and set the cruise type, he should go with 3.36 or 3.55's but he wont get the MPG's.

Good luck with that...sounds like fun shifting all day
