Portland newlyweds killed in two Vegas hit-and-run crashes

A Portland man and his new wife were killed in two separate hit-and-run accidents in Las Vegas just days after they eloped.
Kevin Hills, a prominent Portland antique dealer, was hit by a passing semi-truck while trying to change a tire on a Las Vegas highway last Thursday. He was killed and the driver of the truck just kept going.

After Hills was hit, his bride of four days was also struck by another semi-truck while she was trying to flag down traffic for help. That driver didnt stop either, police said.

There have been no arrested in the case.

Melanie Hills, of Portland, is spending this week in Northern California planning her brothers funeral.

It's very heartbreaking and we're in shock, Melanie said.

The loss is difficult already, but made worse by the nature of the crimes. Four truck drivers were being questioned in the case and police said one of them was found cleaning evidence off his rig.

Its pretty conclusive evidence that that vehicle was involved and did at least try to make it appear that he was not," said.

But even with that, no one has been arrested, no one charged.

He was pulled over, way over on the road. There was the hit and run and then they ran over him with four different trucks and nobody stopped. It's just horrible and its obvious they knew what they did, said.

Hills recently moved to Southern California where he met his wife but he still called the Northwest home.

Funeral services for Kevin will be held in Grass Valley, Calif. this weekend.

That's HORRIBLE!!!! The guilty truck drivers should be shot! Jail time is too good for them.

Man, talk about bad luck! I don't even know such bad luck is even possible! Well, at least they're together forever now. R.I.P.

It's very disturbing that so many different drivers hit them and none stopped. Is humanity and decency all but extinct nowadays?

This story is weird.

The cops found evidence being cleaned off one of the trucks and no arrest was made??????????????????????????????????????????????

Something is wrong with this story, it just does not add up.
