I was wondering if there's any other GOOD trucking composites (flatbed or tanker) that will hire new drivers with just a permit?

Forgive me for asking, but do you mean you aren't going to get your CDL?
-
No. I'm sorry for not clearing that up... I know I have to get my cdl but, I'm looking for a company that will train me to get my cdl
Chinatown Thanks this. -
You are not, repeat NOT a new driver until you get a CDL and are hired. Until then you are just someone with a permit or a cdl.
AND yes there are a bunch of companies that will hire you and train you and then make you work for a year to pay off their investment. -
The use of the word "Good" will limit your choices. What you have is no marketable skills other then being able to pass a written test. The companies that will offer to train you and then "maybe" hire you on will charge you more then the going rate for that training. That is because the government gives them taxes incentives to do so. They are being paid to train you by the government and they charge you as well. Going to a driving school at a good Community College will cost around $4000 or so. Mine was $2500. I do not know what Roadmaster charges but his company will let you know.
If you go to a Company school, they will deduct what you owe them over a 1 year period. It is exactly like being an indentured servant. If you know your history that is the way slavery started in this Country. Two indentured servants escaped from their boss back in the 1600's. One was white, he got another 7 years added to his service. The other, a black man by the name of John Punch, was sentences to Life in service. John Punch became Americas first slave.
It is my opinion that newbies should avoid getting their training from Companies that will then turn around and force you to work for slaves wages. Slaves may have help build this country but they did not benefit from their labors.
Add market value to yourself and then apply for a job looking the employer in the eye like an equal. That is the way to improve this business for all of us. -
I thought about that but the only place in my area that have a driving school Is diesel driving academy and their price is 10 grand. I tried coastal truck driving school but I didn't qualify for a grant

Do you have friends or family you could stay with while attending a school elsewhere?
If you don't have the funds to pay for school up front, many will finance you. If staring at those bills is still too much for you, then why don't you go with one of the big carriers? You'll need to get some OTR experience in anyway, so it makes as much sense as anything else. -
