This reminds me of the old electronic log book debate. I heard "I'm not working for a company with electronic log books! NEVER!" Well in 5 years or most likely less EVERY trucking company of any size is going to have cameras in their truck for insurance purposes you can bet your life on it. Better get used to it.
Prime will be installing camera's in its trucks. Just heard at Friday's Meeting....

When folks decide to work for these mega bottom feeders,
they agree to accept the companies policies.
Pretty simple concept, actually........slowpoke89 Thanks this. -
My current company does in our day cabs. It's not a huge deal, they only come on when 'activated' and we actually had them save the company money already.
Driver was driving in city and a lady just cut over right into him. She told the police he cut into her and cops naturally believed the 'innocent' four wheeler. Company reviewed the tapes and sent them to the police. Lady got arrested for fraud.
One thing a lot of people don't know, usually the people who review the tapes, least at my company, are an outside company that in turn only sends over major incident footage. -

I have both an interior and exterior in my truck to protect myself. I'm ok with company installed recorders.

I think it's funny how prime went from one extreme to the other. Back in the late 80's and thru the 90's prime trucks were always in the median flipped upside down or running over something or someone, always running 80mph or more. Oh well they got to screw the drivers somehow to pay for that big expensive terminal. Now all the prime trucks are good for is to clog the highways at 57 mph. I can see why they want a camera, drivers fall asleep from boredom.
