Have looked at a lot of companies out there recently. And I have narrowed my search to these two companies. In my opinion they fit my needs the best. What is everyone's opinions on these 2 good and bad. I'm looking for anything on them I can find. I want to make the best most educated choice I can make. Thanks in advance for any help.

I am from Indiana and did a job search and Venture Logistics were looking for drivers. Seemed like a good company but would be nice to hear from someone that works there.
What was it that you liked about Venture Logistics . -
Liked the home time and running area. It would be nice to hear from a current employee about pay and insurance!

Maybe someone will be on here soon. Website has a little info but not much. I was trying to see if they hire newbies or do any training.

Hi dennisroc. I have been with Venture Logistics for about 4 months. If you are looking for a company to make you money and run good miles, this is not the company. I am currently looking for another company but it is really hard to do because I don't want to leave the this company. The people here in the office, dispatch, admin, night and weekend......they are all so freakin nice. This is the first company I've worked for that they actually treat every driver with respect. They do whatever it takes to get you home even if it means sending you home bobtail or empty. I live in Dayton, OH and they have sent me home from IN that way several times. In a way its good because I get home but at the same time I'm not making any money or miles that way. I have a really good relationship with my DM and we conversate openly, so he knows I'm looking for other work but he also knows I don't want to go. the people being nice doesn't pay the bills. Even though this is the slow season, this past month was so bad that I couldn't pay for my bills, a relative of mine did. I don't want you yo think its a bad company because it is far from that. The people are great there, I just dont think they have the freight to give me the miles I need to survive. Right now I'm in Carlisle doing a 34 by choice, only because I knew they wouldnt have any weekend fright to get me moving towards OH.
dennisroc Thanks this. -
Oh yeah, the insurance is pricey and you will have to wait 6 months for medical benefits.
-
Wow that sucks when you have a good company but can't make no money. How much do they pay per mile ?
Do they have a lot of drivers in Indy going through the same thing of not making money ?
What does the company say about slow business, does it look like it will pick up ? -
Pay is based on experience but many drivers get about .35 cpm. A lot of drivers are complaining about the miles, but the company is just saying its the slow time of year. They say it will pick up but I've been hearing that from the DM's for about 6 weeks now.
dennisroc Thanks this. -
did it ever pick up?
