I had several diff local jobs in the 90s and yes you do turn in logs. But heck I would leave out at say just before dark to shuttle my pups only 225 miles. But by the time I got back to the yard each night it was at least 10 hours later Just cause all the bs in-between.

Ok...what about an overnight WAREHOUSE (NON-DRIVING) and then a cdl driving job afterwards as a second job during the day. Is that legal??

So as I understand it you wanna work all night and drive all day. I suppose it could be done but then when do you sleep. And when you run over someone and kill them either in your pov or truck how do you explain it you are not to tired to drive either one. Makes me wonder how legit this thread really is.chicknwing and froglegs Thank this.

I can't speak for where you live (because you dont have a location in your profile!)................ But here in Cali, I personally know 2 people (former coworkers) that have TWO LOCAL JOBS, and have NEVER turned in a log in their life (they've never even been OTR- EVER) ......... They actually work for the same major LTL during the day..... then at night they work a different driving job.... they've had these two jobs for 4, and 9 years respectively..... so YES it can be done BUT.......................
FOR STARTERS: its not easy, (their always pising off the LTL's dispatch because they cant work over 8 hours), and it WILL take a toll on you.... Not to mention (like previously stated) alot of places dont want you having another driving job (my friends get away with it because they work for a contractor at the LTL).... then figure in the fatigue factor
Hope this helps
Forgot to mention, they are USELESS on their day off (they work 6 days a week- sundays off) -
Years ago, I worked with a guy that did exactly that.
We would shuttle trailers a few miles down the road. We worked second shift (3 to 11).
This particular guy was always taking naps, and was exhausted everyday. We were all pretty concerned about it.
I had only been there about two weeks, and he fell asleep and rolled the truck over.
Whatever you have in mind, it's not worth it.chicknwing and streetglider Thank this. -
well, thanks for the advice guys.

NO! simple.

I'm considered a road driver were I work. I'm usually in my 4 wheeler heading home at the beginning of the 8th hour.
