Just listened to "road dog" Sirius and a caller said every independent out there should get "authority" and start making 30-40% more per load...
    What's the caller talking about?
Also said it would only cost $600 to get "authority".
    Thanks

Authority is the permit or business license to engage in transportation. Owner-operators without their own authority, typically lease to companies that have authority. The trucking industry was deregulated in the early 1980s, but authority requirements are still used to weed out operators with bad safety records or insufficient insurance.

    Q. What is an MC Number?

    A. An MC number is issued by the FMCSA. It grants the right to commence operations in interstate commerce in the transportation industry. There are several factors involved in obtaining an MC number including a USDOT number, BOC 3 Process Agents, and Insurance.
