I would have been furious too and there is no way I would have traveled with the man because I would have called the police and gotten him arrested. What he did was wrong and you were a witness. The company needs to fire the man plain and simple.

I had 2 idiot "trainers" with TransAsshole and had to get out of the truck on the second one and take a bus home AT MY EXPENSE. I wasn't ready to quit but the lady to whom I talked in Olathe informed me that I would not be working for them. she told me it was because I had left the truck during "training." I had finished "training" several weeks earlier with the first guy and they were ready to give me my own truck. she never asked me why I got out of the truck.
while I was with the first guy we kept moving pretty good and got an average of 3000 hub miles a week (we were gone for 3 weeks straight.) if he had been solo, he wouldn't have gotten that many miles, considering we would stay up all day waiting to get loaded, then he would expect me to drive ALL NIGHT while he was in the sleeper!!!!!
it might be a good company if you don't have to go thru training, or if they can put you with a trainer who isn't an incompetent ########. -
The Beginning of APRIL, I will begin orientation with TransAm Trucking, can any driver with TransAm give me some advise, what to expect and what I need to be prepared for? I just graduated from trucking school on 3/7/08. -
I'm leaving out this Sunday morning heading for Rocky Mount, NC orientation. I'm really looking forward to becoming a professional truck driver, your comments, the good, bad and the ugly, have been very helpful, coming from everyone. Its so much to learn and thats the thrill about becoming a true truck driver. The dos and the don'ts, I am a good listner and try my best to pay close attention to details and SAFETY comes first in all that I do! Question to the veteran and experience drivers, if I do get a bad trainer or fleet manager, what is the best way to handle the situation?

Really, couldnt prove any of it being good by me. My hubby is leasing from them. Everything went fine until he broke down. Dont listen to what they (transAm) tells you about how you will make more money leasing, and how the breakdowns are covered by the warranty-NOT!!! They took my hubbys whole paycheck this last week for the break down and say he still owes them $35.00. Plus while he was broke down they stopped his fuel card and pilot card and paycard. Made the breakdown his "hometime" and he had to pay for the hotels while it was being fixed. The garage charged him $486.00 for towing and 364.00 for repairs, of which one of the repairs was the tow truck drivers doing- he cut off the driveshaft instead of disconnecting it. Also if it was under warranty my hubby shouldnt have had to pay anything, and he did. And transAm told the garage not give him his repair receipt. Plus besides all that they took his maintainance account of which he was having 5 cents a mile driven put in for breakdowns. There was enough in that account (supposed to have been) to pay for that if warranty didnt cover it. Now hes back on the road, broke, no food, and waiting 2 days on another load back to jacksonville. The breakdown was in orlando. On top of all this they didnt give him warranty paper copies, they still havent given him is Health insurance papers, his paycheck stub reciepts and others. And they are refusing to answer him on qualcom and wont repond to his phone calls. He said if this paycheck is a zero, hes driving that truck through their front door. Its all ########!!! And to top that off because of his no check this week, he's only had one check so far before this, our phone, internet and utilities will be turned off tommorrow so I have no way of contacting him whatso ever. DO NOT GO WITH TRANSAM!!!!!!!

with all warrnaties their is a deductible that must be met and then the warr. picks up the bill..
no warr. paperwork, REDFLAG....
YES your escrow should have been used to pay for his breakdown. then get back to re building it back up. / albeit imo, .05 is low i would be putting in .075 to .10
if your not getting your calls returned, that's a big problem, you need to get to the bottom of this deal. -
Please give me some legal suggestions on how to do that when they wont even talk or deal me even though he's put on his papers that Im his teammate. Ive checked the Kansas State Labor Board, and everyone is covered and protected except for independant contractors. I've checked with the Kenworth Company themselves, and no response. I've checked with National Labor Board and they cant help , they dont deal with independant contractors either.

I would warn anybody not to go with transam. They have treated my hubby like crap, disrespectful, not paid him, and when they have talked to him, theyve blown his ears off about stuff on the truck that was supposed to have been fixed before he got it cause they never checked it out before hand. And whatever you do, DO NOT sign a lease!
