volvo D13 mass air flow sensor clean or replace?

Yes,youcan clean it . If its not defective and just dirty.Worth a shot.Only use MAF sensor cleaner. Dont use carburetor cleaner or brake parts cleaner or youll turn it into a paperweight. Not sure how much to replace(probably a minimum of $65. 3M makes MAF sensor cleaner about 5 bucks at auto parts store. The sensor should be in the outlet of the air cleaner housing on the plastic snorkel tubing . Usually little square black plastic box with an extremely delicate screen in it.If it has dirt or engine oil on the screen itll effect it.Spray it with the cleaner,avoid poking it with the straw on the cleaner can. Id clean it.
