Well I read nothing good about Western Express They sound like a nightmare to work for ... but they and Super Services are the only ones who called me and set up a orientation date .... western express has already sent me a email with my bus info I'm leaving for orientation to Nashville TN on Monday 2/10/2014 I will be doing there flatbed division since that's all they are hiring for in my area .... What I'm asking is has anyone got any new updates on them and what should I expect my first few day's there and how hard is flat bedding is compared to Van ... I wasn't looking forward to doing flatbed but if that's what I got to do to get some experience then Let it be.

Flatbedding isn't hard. Just stay focused and pay close attention to what you're doing. ALWAYS secure your load correctly because if you don't it could cost your life and others. If a load needs to be tarped then tarp it correctly so it does not get wet. Securing isn't hard or exhausting. Hardest part is moving chains from truck to trailer which is easy. You'll also have to get your tarp up on top of loads to tarp them. Just be careful and have attention to detail and it's a easy. If you're one to take shortcuts or lose focus easily then flatbed isn't for you.

Good luck. I didn't want to do flatbed at first either, but it grows on you. Now on the rare occasions when I do pull a van, I get bored. I shut the doors and think "That's it?"

Good for you. You do what you have to do to put food on the table & a roof over your head. There's nothing wrong with honest work, whether flipping burgers or driving for WE. In fact, you have my deepest respect. I wish you the best.
