Hello everyone! Well, lately I have been entertaining the thought of going to a private school to get my CDL, instead of a big company where you sign a contract to have tuition paid for if you stay...etc. I have researched several schools, but I wanted to reach out to see if I could get some feedback or any suggestions about schools in the area. A friend of mine went to Georgia Driving Academy. I was leaning towards that school until I read that you have to test at a different site and there are some (may be very few) schools that you can test right at the site where you have been training. I'm not sure about any of this, but any feedback is welcome. I plan to use the WIA grant and I'm interested in anything starting with Douglasville down to Covington. If you know anything about using that grant, I would love to hear it. I'm anxious to get started and was wondering how long the grant would take to come through. Thank you!

what you should do is go to one of the Georgia technical school, by far the lowest cost and in ga. possible for a hope grant where it wont cost anything. they also do the testing, by far the best route for a Georgia resident.
Chinatown Thanks this. -
Thank you skateboardman. I will put it on the list to look into it.

Good advice there. The Hope Grant pays for CDL school out of lottery proceeds.Bella21 Thanks this.

thanks silverdrifter, but Athens is a bit far for me. I was a little intimidated by the 3 weeks programs, but I am actually ok with it now. I have been studying and taking practice tests online to familiarize myself with some of the material. So, hopefully this will help when I get to school. Thanks for the tips!
