    excessive oil top front center engine, before egr valve area, common problems? I'm thinking turbo, cylinder issues?

    Where, exactly? Pictures? Do you see a leak? These engines do have a closed crankcase breather system and are prone to bypassing some oil through the intake piping past the turbo.

    oil will puddle on top of engine data plate and behind after a test drive

    Are you talking about the right valve cover area? The crankcase breather is in this area, but there is alot packed into this engine. Pictures would really help.

    it is MAN engine, they use closed crankcase ventilation system and sometimes crankcase vent lets oil out... really not a big problem

    turbos coke up and u will need to vent the crankcase beather
