1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

Hey all, I'm searching for a carrier to please give me a chance! I am trying to get prehired so I can attend a CDL school here in Missouri, but I have 1 DUI and 2 refusals on my driving record from 12-14 years ago that are now haunting me and really putting a strain on my attempt to start a new career.

I have a very solid work history outside of the trucking industry, also my driving record is clean up to and after those incidents of poor decisions that I made over a decade ago. I am very hard working, very reliable as well as eager to become a driver and given a chance I will not disappoint!

    Thank you in advance!

I think it will be next to immpossible for a carrrier to hire you even if they are self-insured. I think you should consider getting your own motor carrier authority. But prior to doing that I would call Progressive Commercial to see if they can even give you a possible quote. Maybe even OOIDA? Unfortunately, those who make foolish decisions years and even decades ago, will ultimately haunt you somehow for the rest of your life. I.E., I have a real close friend, solid guy, family, mid 700 credit score, degree, house, down to earth, everything you could think of. He got a General Under Honorable condition out of the military when he was 20. He was involved with Navy Speciial Operations. Not a SEAl but in the spec op community. He has tried for years to get on the police force and noone will hire him.
