I have a 2006 international with a C15 cat engine in it. a couple months ago it was an issue that the oil level in the pan kept rising, so I removed valve covers, I removed jake brake heads and all injectors, replaced all O-rings and reassembled. the engine ran fine and it no longer did it leaks fuel into the crankcase. however, ever since my jake breaks don't work. I have double checked all my connections and everything seems ok, I over heard a couple of the guys saying that they have needed to bleed jake heads to get them to work again because they may be somewhat air locked. so my question to you guy are the following:

    1) How do I check that the jake brake solenoids are receiving power to make sure that the electrical portion of this system is working properly?
    2) How do I bleed the system?

any help at all will be much appreciated

There is no such thing as bleeding the jake heads, you want to run the unit and look for oil leakage, if that is OK then disconect all the conections to the Jake solinoids, and be sure they do not short out. run the engine up with a volt meter contected and check for voltage to each solinoid. Cover the heads with a towel as they will spray oil if they activate.
    Just a thought!

so each jake head has 3 solenoids, 1 in the middle of the jake head and 2 other ones at each end. which one should I check for voltage? and the only time that it should be activated is when u have released the throttle after you have revd it up, right?

The Jake solinoid is the center one, the other two are for the intake valve actuators. and yes the only time you get voltage to the solinoid is while the engine is slowing down.
You can test the solinoid for resistance, and with a jumper wire and the engine running, energise the solinoid looking for a broken head or an inoperative head.
If you have a Cat program you can turn on the jake solenoids, with the engine shut down.
