I am looking at some transport jobs on Craiglist and I notice that all of the jobs state that they only look at your MVR, drug test, Medical card, and criminal background. So if they do not mention looking at your CSA score then they do not check it? Because when I was new driver I had some minor warnings that never got a citation for but may show up in CSA. In fact I know the CSA shows crashes and inspections but is that all? If so then I should be OK. My MVR is clean.

CSA shows anything you got stopped for and received a ticket or warning. Warnings still give you points on your CSA score but you don't have to pay a fine. It also shows non moving violations such as weight etc.

From what I understand the only way to get anything on your csa is through a inspection or dot reported accident. That being said somethings go to the company's csa some to the driver and some both depending on the violation. From what I've researched most companies want you to have a below 70 csa score. Unless you have been put out of service on more than one occasion with multiple violations I doubt you have a score around 70. Although the way they multiply the points they can get hight fast. Anyways if your that curious about it you can just pay for a copy of your score. Take all that with a grain of salt because I'm sure something I said was wrong lol

I know this is wrong because you dont get anything on your csa for weight violations. Im not 100% sure but if you dont get a inspection along with receiving a ticket you won't get anything put on your csa either.

not entirely true. I was illegally parked at a full rest stop. The dot guy gave me a level 3 which i passed almost entirely. He failed me do to illigal parking and gave me a written warning. I had to send to company and have them fax it back signed. I did not get any CSA points and still have none. (this happened over a year ago.) Also I had 1 not at fault accident. That didn't give me points either. Had a speeding violation. No CSA points either. Im not sure what does give CSA points, but my score is still 0. Im sure logbook violations, any accident with injeries, any out of service will all give points.

Might as well as chime in. For the record I have a logbook form violation ,which simply means the officer could figure out what to write for, anyway that's a year old,and it is not on my current CSA.

Also if you change jobs the track record you share with the previous employer goes with you, but that does not have an affect on the new employer, nor d o we there previous have an affect on you.Only the violations you share while employed there are shared.

Also the points for a violation have a multiplication factor which is highest the new the are, the older the violation the lower its point value.

So if you have a inspection and do not pass for violations like lights, brakes air leaks what ever it still goes against your score even thou they are company violations.

And when you change companies they will stay on yours and theirs, but have no affect on the new company.
