I have run an Astatic 636 and a Ranger SRA198 both are good. You could also look at the Road king 56.

Thanks for the info.

One thing you might consider is watching a few videos on YouTube featuring mic tests. You should be able to search and find several videos on the subject. With that being said, I will second juanvaldez's opinion. Personally, I like the RK56 best, but it is definitely a personal preference thing. Many people use one of those 3 mics and have great sounding audio.

Astatic 636L. SRA -198's are both excellent Noise Cancelling Mic's...RK 56's "Use to be" back when Turner was still making them...Since Barjan took over production, they are hit and miss...(mostly "miss") not to mention "over-priced".
Another option is the RF Limited Xtreme 2018...The 2018 is a good match up for the 29's since not only is it a Noise cancelling Mic, but also a power mic, and a echo mic, and priced about the same as the RK 56's.ShooterK2 Thanks this. -
Astatic 636L or a SkyThumper 65DX
I use astatic for the ptt buttons size and location.
The skythumper is a better mic tho, but just barely. IMO -
i have a Astatic mic on my 29 LTD.... quite happy with it

Astatic 636L's (with the stainless steel chords) are what I use, exclusively, on my cb radios (Cobra 29's & 25's).

I put an Astatic Road Devil (RD104E) power mic on my Galaxy, it made a noticeable improvement in the audio volume when heard through the talkback. Had to turn the talkback way down to prevent the feedback. That mic preamp will help get your voice audio much higher than the background noise level.

I recently took JJD's advice and ordered a RF Limited 2018 Xtreme, and now that I've had a couple weeks to use it, I can also recommend this mic as well. I run a Uniden 980, and after two attempts to install an echo board (with less than satisfying results), I figured I'd try this mic. It's loud and very clear in all my recordings from the receiving radio, and it provides the slight amount of echo that I like in my audio. I do need to point out, however, that if you, like me, are used to using an RK 56, the shape of this mic will take some getting used to.
jessejamesdallas Thanks this.
