There is something to be said about this. Americans frequently complain, (RIGHTFULLY SO), about illegal immigrants taking jobs away from them at all skill and pay levels. The foreigners, overseas, most likely feel the same way, (UNDERSTANDABLY SO).

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

Try applying with the cruise lines, but don't pay any fees for the job. No fees are required. Anyone asking for fees is scamming you.

Try the "Sealift Command." Google will show the website and how to apply. Lengthy process.

It is hard to "whisper quietly" with a secret security clearance. The Gov. knows everything about me and my family and anything in my past. As a DOD contractor I am exempt from paying taxes.
I am 60 and have worked in Asia, Europe, South America, Central America, Puerto Rico and all over the USA and have never been audited and have nothing to hide if I do get audited.

Can I ask how you know the Gov. audits 35 percent of overseas workers ? Not that I don't believe you it is just that I know a lot of people working overseas on government contracts that have also never been audited.

Watch now I will get audited this year. Lol

Some people that are working for the gov. overseas are not tax exempt, maybe these are the ones getting audited.

Strange culture; status symbol for the men to have a cute "boy toy" or "house boy."

Look at box 14 in your W2 -- that should list the per diem amount paid.

Trucker pete, can't help ya on the overseas aspect but hv some thoughts...

You bagged $30k for, essentially, 7 mos of work. That's ~$51k per year. I've bn w Tyson 7.5 years. You're going to be making more cpm in year or two. I made low 50's first couple years there. I made 60 last year. I take more home time than I'm really supposed to - 17 nights out, 4 nights in - every 3 weeks, same thing. Point is...stick w it. Hang in there. You've got a good thing. W Tyson, if you don't ##### unnecessarily, don't get on their #### list, deliver on time, drive safely, drive smart, you'll thrive. Be patient through the slow spells. It's mostly gangbusters. I've had bad weeks, maybe months but never a bad year. When you achieve top payscale you can make $70k+ if ya don't go home a lot.
