RTI has some dedicated accounts in that area I believe. When I was in orientation there was a fella from Dallas signing on but he was gonna do a company position and not lease purchase. If you've never done a lease purchase before I'll give you a hint; you won't make it driving 5 or 6 days and trying to go home every weekend. Basically you need to be a slave to your truck during the purchasing time and run as hard and fast as you can. Once the truck is paid off then you can cherry pick your loads and hometime. RTI's lease purchase helps alot since its a variable lease and you only make a payment based on the miles you run but... it still totals somewhere in the $1400 a month range with all the deductions not counting fuel. So, only running 5 or 6 days a week, your bring home is gonna be really skinny. If you are set on going home that often I'd suggest buying a cheap truck outright with a very low monthly payment and going that route. Hope you know how to work on em (cheap trucks usually mean you'll need to wrench on em quite often) or have some decent, cheap mechanic friends.

lilrobby or Rehab,
I saw your posts on here and they were very helpful, thank you for that. Are you still with RTI? How's it been going? My fiancee was wanting to go on the road with me and I was wondering if they have any double bunk trucks? Not necessarily Prostars but others cause I know Prostars are notorious for being single bunk. What about medical insurance? What are their main freight lanes? I like to run Southeast, Midwest and South Central, Can I make a good living in those regions? -
I'm still with RTI and I really like how they operate. I don't know about double bunk trucks or insurance since I'm doing a lease purchase on a single bunk Prostar. If I want medical I have to buy it myself. I run out of the KC office so my freight lanes are Kansas then east or south. Futz around a little then head back to KC. If you run out of Owensboro they have different lanes. Midwest, Southeast and South central is all I run. I don't go past PA and I don't go into the chain states. I make decent money running my big circles. Prolly can make more if I wanted at another place but being comfortable where I am has more value than money to me. Just finished my futzin around in the Indiana ice and on my way back to KC as soon as I get unloaded here and then do a drop and hook 20 or so miles from this place. Give Travis a call in recruiting and he'll give you the answers you are asking. He is a real straight shooter and won't BS you. Everything he said to me was spot on.
missouritrucker Thanks this. -
Your full of crap, I was at ACT and never even came close to 1400 in a week. The company runs certain drivers and the hell with the rest. and their trucks are not set up well for road work, (Single axle) drive and drive at 55mph for not very good mileage is not my idea of good working. work smarter not harder is my idea of making it in this industry and a truck over working to do the job cost more money to operate.
Pasquale Thanks this. -

Wow. why do you put your self on here for people to ask questions if you don't like the answers. My question for you and all the other people you are talking with it simple. Why is it that as an industry that most companies have a 104 percent turn over rate? That does include River side. I can't believe their could be this many bad drivers in the hole united states. Plus why is it no one wants to come together and come up with an idea that will truly work not just conform to the way everything is being done.
The problem I see is we all are not a like we don't all have the same personal problems or wants needs or goals in our lives. What works for one person will not work for another.
So until we quit complaining and do something about it and come together and put our money where our mouth are then nothing will ever change.
So why don' t we come together?
we are willing to drive for companies who lie or just don't fit your personal life.
We are will to give our hard earned money are time to a CEO who doesn't even know your name not alone your family, and we expect they will care what is going on in our lives.
Only one person who truly cares about you and that is you. Sorry but true. I am sure none of you care who I am do you...
So sense we all have an invested interest in our self's and have that in common.
Why can't we all put a side all the B.S. things and come together create a company that fits as closely as possible to each of us and our own personal goals.
I am not for sure but I believe this is how we came to be in this country. People who were different but wanted the chance to live how they wanted to live.
I don't recall their only being one or two people that came together and create America.
I think in our culture now days we have truly forgotten what it means to be an American.
I am just as guilty as the next guy and become a sheep just fallowing the flock.
Its time we stopped fallowing and started leading our country back to the greatness.
Tell me one industry that could have more of an impact on everyone than the trucking industry.
What if their was away a driver could go from making, 45000 a year to 250000 bring home money. That wouldn't be everyone but most. Like everything we all start out at the bottom.
Don't even try to figure it out one truck by your self that wouldn't happen.
Why do big trucking companies pay less for the most part? The answer in short is numbers having more trucks that you have... -
I'm still with RTI and the company is the best I've ever worked for. I'm doing the variable lease and I do pay a little more a week but the week I go home there isn't a truck payment waiting for me when I come back out. The warranty is great but I found its not 100%. Had a big chunk of ice fly off a truck in front of me and it busted my windshield. I had to pay the deductible for the insurance. No biggie. Got 1 year in now with a few more to go and I might actually make it and get this truck paid for. The new Cascadias are in now. Seen a bunch of them at the Owensboro terminal getting fitted out with the logo, peoplenet, etc...
