Trucking Jobs in 30 seconds
Every month 400 people find a job with the help of TruckersReport.

I would expect that.
The appropriate sized GR 8 bolt should be able to handle the job. -
Aren't those fine thread?

From what I saw. I'm thinking. 14-18 threads per inch.

Saw a Volvo do that once when I was running a tow truck in upstate NY. Only the Volvo snapped the head of bolt clean off. The driver stopped and checked cause he could hear that piece jingling and wondered what it was. We ended up limping it a couple miles to the shop rather than call out the service truck (which was busy elsewhere anyway).

The mechanic told me of disasters. Yoke destroyed, driveshaft plants in asphalt. Lifts truck..... I was lucky

Correct.
You were.
I have see a single screw break off at back axle,at very low speed...................chassis was twice as wide.
That's why i mentioned the high grade bolts. -
Yeh would be fine thread

That's what we were worried about. He was loaded light, I checked it over to make sure it wasn't wobbling around at all and it was still firmly seated where it was supposed to be, and went real slow and easy up the road with his 4 ways on and the light bar going on my truck running escort. I guess they had a hard time finding the right bolt in town so he was there for 5 or 6 hours but we got him going again without lightening his wallet up too much. I tried to do that as much as possible while I was towing. I prefer to deal in volume rather than nail every sucker that rolls by, like some people. *cough*wilkinson*cough*
