DFO, i don't know if this helps, I email my my DBL and let him know where I'm taking my home time. He prefers me to email him if I have any problems. He usually hit me back in a reasonable time. They sit and watch computers all day, and don't like to talk on phone. Also, don't head south for a couple of days. It's going to be nasty! I see you like those frito lay loads.

Good day today, made my delivery in Ohio, picked up my next load 50 miles away and headed south. Stopped for fuel along the way, guess what!! Solid 7.4 MPG hand calculated filled to the same spot on both tanks. Not bad for WV turnpike and the rolling hills all the way up 77. Now mind you it was a very light load, but better than I've ever done before!

Truck is pulling much nicer at the low RPMs and has less "lag" when you hit the throttle after coming around a corner, etc. Seems the little tube and/or sensor were definitely culprits. Still have the MAP sensor left to replace, which has a chance of giving and improvement as well, but we will see.

Unfortunately, yes I'm headed into the south. Had these loads booked since the end of last week. I'm supposed to pick up out of mid-north NC headed to GA on Thursday morning, for a just-in-time delivery load that doesn't really have much room for playing around. Looks like I'll definitely be watching the weather on this one to see if I need to reschedule if possible or have it pulled. I am just... done with winter. Then again I have been since the first day the high dropped below 70*, lol.

Brother.....hope you ain't in a ditch.....delivered this a.m. in Garysburg, picked up in Henderson NC around 12. Hit Raleigh about 1:30 and man, it got waaaaaayyy ugly from there. Made it about 80 miles in just over 5 hours. It's just rank in NC at the moment. I'm hoping tomorrow a.m. the roads will be clear enough to do at least 50 or so. Camped out tonight at Big Boys at the 105 on 95....it's actually about 20 miles north out of route for me 'cause I was headed to Jacksonville FL.....but, there's always a spot at Big Boys and with weather like this, I knew everyone else would fill up early.

ya got your snow cleats, bub??

I got stopped just in time, I went ahead and messaged in telling them I wouldn't be able to make delivery in Charlotte today as soon as I got the messages about the roads getting nasty this morning. It was all good until I came through the tunnel where VA/WV border eachother, on one side of the tunnel it was clear as could be, after I came through the other side into VA it was snowing, I'm not joking lol. Timing was just perfect.

Roads went from fine to real nasty real quick so I hit the truck stop and will probably be here until tomorrow afternoon when it stops. Then hopefully it will be clear enough that I can finish off the trip down to Charlotte.

Even though I told them there was no way to make on time pickup or delivery, they kept me on my load from NC down to Albany GA, hopefully that route will be cleared up as well.

Just been watching Netflix and waiting this crap out.

Truckstop has turned into a ****show lol. I'm at one with a big angled lot and some of these drivers are, for unknown reasons, trying to reverse up into the spots behind them uphill. This isn't working and they're all getting stuck, and then sliding their way downhill towards the trucks on the downhill side until they can't go any further and can't move at all.

Even with a lot of weight its just getting nasty. One driver with a 379 loaded to 78k got completely hung up, he tried cat litter but it still didn't help. I keep a shovel in my load bar rack just in case, so I dug out in front of him a little and he pulled forward, then busted up all the ice that his tires were on top of, and we put down some more kitty litter (only works if u dig the snow out, otherwise it just embeds in the snowpack) and it worked perfectly and he was able to back up enough to spin around and go nose in somewhere.

Then watched another driver do the same thing, his solution was to use high range reverse and put the accelerator on the floor, man I was just cringing so hard waiting for a rear end to explode, poor truck.

It's gonna be NASTY tomorrow morning. Probably won't be moving anyway until tomorrow afternoon, if even. What am I supposed to do when there is 10" of snow on top of my trailer? I'm sure as hell not getting on top of it to clear it off, and I don't see anything around here to run the trailer under to clear it off with.

    Grijon Thanks this.

the cool thing about Big Boys is that it's actually an old school truck stop......20 acres and flat as can be. Just had dinner.......defaulted to the buffet as after 10 minutes of waiting, it became clear that I wasn't going to get a menu. No problem......the food was / is plenty good. Sitting here looking at I-95, folks are moving right along.....but it's starting to rain.....so that might present a whole nother set of issues in the morning.
No worries. I'm fat, dumb, happy, well fed and warm.....man, that sounds like a country song

Can anyone explain to me why the truck stops don't at least give it a shot to plow or salt/sand the lots? I understand it costs money, but even they don't give a #### about us?
