After 10 hours of driving a 58 to 62 mph truck. The only thing you are going to be watching is the back of your eye lids. Dreading you have to do it again the next day. 10 hours go by quick my friend. Even on a 34 you can get caught up on that sleep you didn't get while stressing about appointment times, cities you never been in, and that small check you got and the small check you will get next week :)

No, no. that would be too easy.

There is laundry to do, or that short you need to track down that eats fuses every time the trailer gets wet, or the stupid pvc air lines that hate the cold, or the correct address you need to find because "Highway 67" isn't going to cut it, or the truck needs fuel! you had to secure your last load in the the "sleeper" and calling "road assist" isn't going to help because the load was planned along some theoretical possibility that the could be delivered if everything was perfect and all the lights were green and you had a 90mph tailwind.

I thought ya'll were exaggerating when you said there was hardly any time.... but now that I've been out here...first, you eat up that 11 hrs driving faster than the miles you wanted usually... and that 10 goes quick when you have to clean up, eat and sleep. The internet is far more important that a TV. I'm kind of enjoying not having it those nights in the truck. I listen to the radio on the internet before I fall asleep... I'm starting to like that diesel vibration when I fall asleep. Even if my truck is off the ones next to you vibrate the ground enough that you can feel it!

Off topic, but someone mentioned piss bottles... I don't get why they are in your truck...I mean, you have to pull over to piss right?? I usually find a rest or service area. So, why not walk inside and go? I need to stretch my legs anyways after a few The only time it makes sense to me is at a truck stop at 3am and you wake up and don't want to get dressed and walk inside...but then, why not throw it out on your way in to brush your teeth....I guess I just don't get it...
Is that what those trucks parked on the shoulder are doing? Filling up a puss bottle?? Lol!! Ya'll anti filling them while your driving are you??? Lol!!

You wanna carry a bottle of piss out of the truck with you in the morning? I'm a lil more casual with it than I should be (don't let them roll around, lol), but it seems like the better option when you're in your boxers, it's 3 am and it's really cold outside.

I think a laptop, even without internet, is better than a tv otr. What are you gonna do with a tv? Movies? Games? You can do that on a laptop. Not like you're gonna have cable for the tv anyway. On the note of TVs and lack of time for relaxation; I don't understand the guys that fill up the tv rooms at truck stops. Are they just so bored/addicted to TV that they need to gather around a TV and watch whatever crap one guy picked to watch? I'm guessing most of them are experienced drivers, haven't they figured out a better way to entertain themselves? Movies, internet, games, books, pornography. Sitting in a room with a bunch of smelly weirdos to watch a television program you probably didn't pick? No thanks.

If you are looking for a company that supplies you with a tv, your job search priorities might be a little off. Look for a good company that pays you well then you can buy a tv or a laptop.

There is nothing wrong with a T.V. In a truck, I have a truck with a sleeper that has a t.v.,Motion Satelite,Shower,Toilet,Wireless Internet,Laptop Computer,All in One Fax,Copier,Printer,Full Kitchen,Queen Size Bed,Generator,Roof Air and many more options. It also has a 600 H.P. Cat Engine tuned a little,18spd.trans. I haul Heavy-Over Dimensional Freight and can not always fit into the truck stop,So it is NICE to have the Ammeneties with me when needed and before everybody says you dont need all those things, that is a matter of opinion!! You may not need them or want them,But I do!! Yes my truck is heavy and long, with the tri-axle set-up on the rear it has a 360" Wheelbase and before you say it is hard to drive,It is all a matter of getting used to it and I didnt build it to bump docks in N.Y.City,It was bought and put together and paid for going to construction sites and industrial parks to load and unload. Everyone has a different ideal and job type,Mine allows me to have a extra long truck that is heavy because most all my loads are permitted,So I get to enjoy a few little extra that maybe everybody doesnt or doesnt want!! Just My way of doing business and my opinion!! Robert
