Hi Boys,
I have a specific question. For O/O in fleets with both Owner Operators and Company drivers, has your fleet manager forces you to start using an EOBR? If so, did they force you to start using a specific EOBR or did you get to choose? Did they pay for it or will you have to foot the bills? PLEASE let me know.

Company drivers don't have to pay for it.If company has EOBR then yes we are forced to use it and don't get to choose.Whatever is in the trk is what we're stuck with.

My old CO. gave us and app. where we could log it on phone like pushing butt. on eobr. so we could get used to log to the min. in 15 min. old way 35$ per wk. for 2yrs. for eobr. incu. maps and internet use.

If your leased to a company, you have no choice if the carrier wants you to use an eobr.....
And I'm sure most carriers are charging the lease o/o something for it..... -
A poor mans way of getting around this is for mac or windows notebooks. http://www.driversdailylog.com/ They do not support android yet. Nor do they seem to want to.

You should get a$ break if you use the same system as CO. trucks. some have a lease to own deal.
-
Possible but not probable ...... Carrier would probably want the same system in all of their trucks.
That way the geniuses in the safety dept don't get confused....
Not trying to start anything but..... ... A leased truck is almost a company truck.....Safety and compliance are controlled by the carrier....... All you really get to do is turn down loads and go home..... -
