In an effort to get more info/opinions on various 6/7/8 car trailers in addition to this thread. http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...forum/231748-6-7-car-high-mount-cottrell.html
Thought I would post this gentlemens videos posted about Wally Mo 7 car stack custom.
They have some cool stuff, but asked him the weight & he said it was 26,000 empty?
Maybe someone else on here has one? I know the more decks that move add cost with more hydraulics as well as weight.
My other concern is the top front deck, where it pivots. Have seen that pin head with a plate welded over it on older trailers.
Concerns me if the pins have enough strength to handle the stress?

Anyway, 2 part video linked below titled 101 reasons to buy a Wally Mo.

Just talked to them down at the factory & you can get these with either chains or strap. I strap 90% of what gets loaded & that would save tons of time vs dragging hand ratchets out.
Still concerned with the over all height for the top deck & having to build a bulkhead to account for the bottom belly lift deck. Would think it would have to match the way the guy in the
    above video did his.

Factory is saying 19,800 for weight. Which peculiarly matches what Cottrell states theirs is.

I have a 2007 wall-mo 7 car stack and I have been very happy with the flexibility of it. It is the same trailer minus the moveable front of the number two spot. The trailer he is showing will be my next trailer. That number two spot dropping is awesome I seen one in person loaded and was amazed. As far as that pin pivot goes on the number one I wouldn't worry I put crew cab trucks up there and suburbans even had a chev one ton dually diesel with a 12 foot steel bed up there and I run the number one spot extended out most of the way. As far as the bulkhead goes that really isn't necessary if you have a good set of full coverage fenders. I have the full minimizer fenders with a mudflap that hangs two inches off the ground at ride height. You just have to pay attention to your fifth wheel location and do some testing with a car in the belly spot so you know how far forward you can pull a car as far as the height of the top deck goes I can not put a 2007 and up Yukon or Tahoe on number two and be under 14 foot without flattening tires and chaining that thing down like its novodys business but. With that trailer you can lower number two that may make a difference. I would say the 20k weight is pretty close.

    LBZ Thanks this.

Called down there to get a quote for comparison purposes for my bank. Always run Cottrell/Miller/Wally Mo quotes to them so they can get a feel for where the price structure is new & used.

Was not really interested in one until they said they had a stack custom on 22.5's going through paint. Should be ready within 10 days +/-.
So now am really torn between the devil I know within Miller & trying something new. Roughly 5 grand difference between a left over 2013 Miller & this being a 2014 with more moving decks. That
& supposedly you can swap out the chains for straps? Hate dragging out 24-28 individual ratchets every load & then of course rolling them up back in the tool box each time.

May have to drive down there tomorrow or Friday just to check it out if they will let me in their fabrication shop.

All that said, very much appreciate the info above. If you have pics of loads or anything, throw them in here. Am sure more than just myself would appreciate them as each trailer is a bit unique in terms of where certain vehicles need loaded by size etc. Thanks again!

This was when it was a 8 car trailer from the factory but I only got to use it three times and it made the trailer about 1000 lbs heavier over the axle so I removed it. But it saved my but here.

When you could put 8 cars on what was your trailer axle weight? Im guessing you had problems with weight is why you took the shotgun off?

I was always over weight even with the load of Cruz's. And just in general with a seven car load I was always heavy.
