pretty good description of one of the jobs a hot oiler does...

around here where the paraffin is a major pain, they will pull some oil out of the tank, heat the oil and then connect to the well head and force the hot oil down hole to melt out the paraffin that is clogging the line..

I have also talked to a hot oiler who would boil off the water when the battery tank was wet throughout the tank, not just the bottom. It would take him 6 to 8 hours to do a 200 bll tank. He was cleaning up the oil on the tank I had rejected the day before with 1% water in the top sample, and 8% water on the bottom. Don't know why that pumper would not recirculate the tank through the treater.

    hardworkinman Thanks this.

Well Texas is the wrong place to be then. In the winter, it can get colder than a well diggers ###, and in the summer it can get hotter than Hades. They say that, of you can survive an Amarillo winter, you can survive anywhere.

For 1600 a week I can handle pretty much anything nature has to offer. I do hate the heat but I will have to learn to love it lol

Gitaslife, I was in your shoes last May and like you, I too was doubting my ability to get a job in the oil field as a fresh CDL grad. But I found this website and read a thread from the Good Doctor above.
Then I kept reading and used my Atlas to find the towns mentioned and map out my route.

As as soon as I arrived in Karnes County I started visiting each truck yard I saw until I got hired on the spot by the 3rd one. So I stopped looking for a job while waiting for my drug & background to come back. That was eight months ago.

Stop thinking it can't be done and after you get your CDL go out and do it. You'll find a job. It may be one of the first doors you knock on or it may take many more. But remember, so many of us fresh CDL school grads did exactly this, so you can too.

Good Luck to You & Safe driving
