Same here all depends on the area and what I'm running. It sucks but in the north east you sometimes don't have a choice. The reserve parking TA does now in many places is just a money maker for them. See it from their point of view. How many of us stop at a truck stop for the night and don't spend a 1.00 there. I know I do all the time. They offer parking in general in hopes you come in and spend money. The fuel we buy doesn't make them hardly Any money. That goes for for cars or trucks. Most sites make 1-3 cents a gallon at best off it. Typically around a penny. They make their money from the high dollar crap we buy.
So I don't blame them for charging in high traffic areas. As it was said. Theres been many times I would have paid $50.00 for a parking spot when that elog is ticking down to the last few minutes lol

That is the reason...overall. Why can't you accept that?

When I was in Phoenix I paid to park at Danny's across the street from a Flying J just to keep away from all the riff raff and new drivers. :yes2557:

Even as a company driver you can deduct the parking fee if your company does not reimburse you. Keep the receipt and include it in your sched a deductions along with any other things you spend money on to do your job.

its not that I got money to burn, its just that after many years in the biz, 11 bucks is the least of my worries. its makes things easier, same as when I take the family to Disney or universal studios, or six flags, I pay extra for those passes that get you to the front of the lines, when I buy tickets to a ball game, I sit at dugout level, not in the nosebleed section.

maybe in 25 more years you can blow 11 bucks on a parking spot. as I said another tool at my disposal to get the job done, you probably also don't understand why I own my truck and trailer and don't drive someone elses.

whos gouging you? you don't have to pay it, gouging is if you were forced to pay to park.

I think you are upset than you cant afford the perks some drivers can. this has been hashed out here before.
