Hey guys I just recently bought a 07 387 peterbilt with a 475 cat and cannot figure out this problem. I've had it in the shop twice. We thought we had it figured out. The check engine light came on it came up as #3 intake valve actuater so we replaced. No codes now. The truck has a bad miss at 1300-1500 rpms it jerks and cuts out bad. It acts exactly like a dirty fuel filter but we changed them a week ago. I'm really loosing hope here .The same day i had a bad leak of antifreeze with my oil cooler do these trucks have any kind of censor when the antifreeze gets low that would cause it to act crazy? Any help is appreciated!! This is the third week I've been down! I'm really regreting getting rid of my old kenworth it never let me down once.

Fuel pressure regulator? You might not be getting the fuel to keep... often they get weak and will work din under no load .. or "meet spec" i had my truck miss under full load and changed this out and havent had issue since... its simple and cheap. . Hope it helps

Thanks I'll give that a shot. I have nothing to loose at this point.

is ir doing it while the engine is cold? does it stop after it warms up, let up warm up good before driving it

Well actually it does it worse once it's warm. I first thought it was electrical being that it was acting that way but now im leaning towards a fuel problem.Ive never been so stressed over a truck in my whole entire life!I bought the truck from tmc.Ive only hualed one load since ive bought this truck its been a nitemare from day one!!Im hoping to figure this thing out soon. Thanks

Sounds like a wiring harness issue to me. Take it for a drive with the computer hooked up or if you don't have access change it. Cheap money well spent. Check the wiring going to the crank and can sensor also. If you don't have a fuel pressure gauge install one. If you are paying for the upkeep install the guages so you have a idea what the motor is doing.

Thanks for the good info a friend of mine told me the same thing. I do not have a fuel presure guage at the moment but am definitely installing one. Thanks!!

My truck is doing the same thing and I installed a fuel pressure gauge to check pressure. It's running 100 lbs. so that can't hardly be the issue. It runs well until I shift on a hill and get back into the throttle then it's like half the injectors start missing and I half to back out of it and roll the throttle on nice and slow. Just overhauled and put on new wiring harness inside and out. It did this also with the old ecm and wiring so that isn't the problem. I did use the old injectors as they only had 160,000 miles on them. I'm not sure how to check the injectors as it only misses when you pull it hard and shift. Can one do a data log with cat et while you pull it?

Yeah sounds just like what I'm dealing with. I am going to get someone with a computer ride with me tomorrow and see what I can come up with. Thanks for the info

Dieselman mine will do that to but it's because of the tune I'm running and still have the stock turbo. I either pick a gear I can climb the hill in or roll out of the throttle before I shift. Otherwise is will sound like a flooded gas engine trying to clean itself out.
