Well what can I say I'm back in the south!! Parked at at a medium-large sized independent truck stop along my goatpath route down to Albany, GA. I think there are 5 trucks total in the whole lot. Doesn't smell like piss, something different form the usually P/FJ crap in the store, clean bathrooms, it's much warmer out, frogs croaking in the drainage ditch... yeah, I'm glad to be down here.

I'll make my delivery in Albany tomorrow morning, still got about 100 miles to go. Then I'll have to go sit at the Peelot or maybe see if I can go to the Walmart without getting kicked out, and sit tight for the rest of the day because my next load doesn't pick up until the 17th. Then its off to NC again! Hopefully the weather will cooperate and I can stay well ahead of myself with good loads.

You can go to Walmart.....and there's a kick arse Chinese place there too. There's other options to park in Albany as well, but believe it or not, Pilot is your best choice. I wouldn't go to the SNI yard on a bet, but it's only a block away from Pilot.
I'm from Albany so I kinda know. And if you're at the Shell at the 121, DON'T EAT THE FOOD!!!!

Thanks, just wanted it in case I need a place to park in the future when I run these loads some more. I usually run these loads down here at night because the goat paths are empty and not clogged up by 4wheelers that can't decide if they want to do 80 or 43 MPH like during the day.

No sweat.....but 300 isn't really such a bad road.....divided 4 lane. Watch yourself going through Warwick.....it sez 45, and they mean 45. If you don't see a cop, it's only because he has someone else pulled over. Other than that, it's smooth sailing all the way down. The Pilot should have plenty of parking tomorrow and P&G almost always has some decent paying loads going out. Welcome to the "Good Life City"....LOL

108890800 has a stop off, and the hours are a bit rude, but it pays pretty good....and it's either Sams or Walmart and those are usually pretty friendly places to deliver

    Grijon and dieselfuelonly Thank this.

Have you ever followed the Qualcomm route down to Albany from NC? Is there any different way you would run it? A lot of it is two-lanes which honestly isn't too bad because its quiet, but so much stop+go through towns... pain in the butt. Not as bad as PA though lol.

Last time I ran down there I got to the Pilot LATE at night and it was full, so while I was going to loop back around and look for another spot I saw the Walmart and asked the security guy driving around if it was OK for me to park there. He said yes, but I'm not sure if he was just being nice or if its not allowed normally.

I booked a load last night from P&G that runs me up to NC, then I pick up another load the next day out of SC and head down to GA again. Really gonna try to stay south now.
