Dropped my box load in Easton last night, just as the snow started. Grabbed PP load of frozen spudlets, and headed back down to Houlton, with the idea of making it into Bangor... NOT!
Got stuck behind a slow truck. Yep, you guessed it!! One of those dratted slow Prime trucks. This guy was doing 5 mph all the way from Easton to the first passing lane on the other side of Mars Hill... except of course, in Mars Hill, where he handily exceeded the 25 mph speed limit. Jerk. At that point the roads weren't even bad... just a little snow blowing around. So much for getting anywhere except Houlton.
Excellent road conditions today... even on the snowpack outside of Houlton on 95... 45 to 50 until the sun came out, and cleared things up about 40 miles outside of Bangor. Breakfast at Dysarts, 'n then beat feet down to Willington for the night. Headin' to Houston for Thursday morning. -

You seem to get up that way a few times, do you request to head to Maine, are they good paying loads in and out or do things just work out that way ?
Just curious, was up their in summer with my lease trainer and was up their again as a company driver a few weeks ago. Enjoyed the drive up and back in both seasons. -
When you get up into Mass. or upper New England it's a surprise if you don't get either a Lewiston Walmart load, a Easton McCains potato load or a GM load out of Haverhill.
most of the time, if heading to Easton, you DH... Otherwise they might give you a cardboard load from Mass. going to the plant.albert l Thanks this. -
What else do they have up that way? I'm going to be otr but was just wondering where I'd probably drop my trailer on home time in the Boston area. Thanks!
