Is there a listing of central database or listing of Company terminal locations anywhere on the web?

My family is considering moving to a different state this summer, and I am trying to figure out which companies are close to XXX cities. I know I can find terminal listings on most individual trucking company sites, but that's very cumbersome and was hoping for a more efficient way. Husband has not yet completed school and is the process of investigating companies for pre-hire. Just thought it would be easier for him/us if we could think ahead of our move by investigating those companies in our upcoming new area. But need to figure out who is there..(does that make sense?)

    thanks much!

Yes, it makes sense; problem is not all terminals are listed. Some companies have dedicated logistics accounts that won't show on the website. Try Indeed and Careerjet websites.

    Thank you Chinatown.

Is there a general rule of thumb on how far away a company will allow/prefers you to live from their terminal and still hire you?

A few companies have limits, but most OTR don't. Some may specify 50 miles or 150 miles or just state "reasonable distance".

You can type in your search engine "trucking companies in ______" and you might come up with some fleet directories. The thing with that is you might also get alot of "single truck" operations. If you think you know what area's you are interested in you might want to let everyone on here know, might come up with something good.

    Thank you for the suggestions...

In the most perfect of perfect worlds, we'd move somewhere near Toledo, Ohio. We've got family within that area and the family/extended support would be a blessing and welcomed change. However, being that it's not a perfect world, we're still discussing it. But Ohio and Southern Michigan are the current front runners.

If you go to Toledo look up Chambers...don't think they have a website. They run auto parts, dedicated home everyday, don't know about the experience factor with them though.
