If you're looking to maximize your hometime, the NE reefer fleet will do that for you. Between the business we have in Portland, Lewiston and Easton you may even be able to squeeze some overnights under load into it. Hometime is 4 days max not including arrival and departure days, 3 weeks between requests. You accrue 1 day per week out.

As a company driver, you get what they assign you. Lightweights aren't terribad. Pics in my profile.

    You're gonna really be disappointed.

company driver policy is a minimum if 3 weeks between hometime. 1 day off for every 7 out. So I'd count on planning 3 weeks out otherwise cross fingers a load happens to pass by the house with time to stop.

NE fleet is light weight tractors.

Anytime you have a meat load. Before and after. There are other times that a trailer washout is required, or needed. Prime pays it, via comcheck. Make absolutely sure you scan the receipt with your trip. Otherwise, you will be paying for it until you send them said receipt scan. Comchecks are technically an advance to the driver. They get the receipt, they "reimburse" you. (That's how it shows up on your settlement.)

Meat and Produce loads require a wash out. I always went with the standard that unless the dispatch stated otherwise a washout was needed. Prime has contracts/accounts with the big wash out outfits, plus alot of the smaller places. If prime does not have a contract with the location then, the driver can write a Com-Check for it or pay for it out of pocket and get reimbursed, this of course requires your FM's permission/OK which is easy to get. If a Com-Check is written, Prime pays for it upfront. You must provide a receipt for all wash-outs period, this goes in with your load scan.
Prime provides a list of locations in their drivers guide. You would be surprised at the number of wash-out locations around.

Also alot of meat (Beef) locations have wash-outs on location, plus some of the other places do to.

My husband is leaving for orientation in Scanton in a couple weeks. His recruiter is not very helpful and he already had to push it back once because his recruiter never told him he would be leaving OTR straight out of orientation. Very frusterating for both of us. Im not sure why everything has to be a mystery. Can you please give us some idea for a packing list? We have no idea how long he will be out, what will happen, anything. :( Very frusterated this afternoon over this.
