Looking for some honest answers on what kind of rate per mile O/O leased to a carrier are averaging yearly. On flats steps and Rgn doing mostly legal size loads. Thanks

Ok no answers so far, How about this. I currently average 1.65 mile pulling step and 1.80 if I pull Rgn with legal size loads. Is that about the average with all the companies or can I do better.

I think you are doing ok, especially if you are pulling company trailers. I assume those rates are mt and loaded(all miles).

I don't know where you are running but I think you could do much better. But there are some on here that would take that and be happy with it and not even look for better.

I would apply to Walmart today and sell my truck if I was averaging 1.65 pulling a step. I don't even consider freight that pays 1.65 much less averaging that. I guess maybe if you're running 50% deadhead it might work.

    bbone Thanks this.

If u average 1.65 pulling a step something is very wrong...van drivers @ schneider are making that...try dry bulk or tanker and 97% of the time u will average 2.00 plus FSC a mile and work less but get paid more

I'm willing to bet the above guys are talking ALL miles on the truck. It's best to avg all miles to make it simpler. There are some loads you can get $4.00+ per mile......but you have to deadhead 500 miles to find your next load.
