Is Halliburton a "starter" company in the oilfield? (for cdl's and frac hands)

 

I was wondering the same thing. Will they hire a cdl driver fresh out of class a school?

 

If you have a CDL-A you can get a job as a frac hand at just about any of the majors.

 

Don't forget Chesapeake owned performance technologies

 

What's a good entry level frac hand company? I've applied to halliburton but no response.

I have CDL A with X end. And 6months OTR exp.

I don't know if this question has been asked already, I can't quite remember: how hard is it for a 21 year old recent CDL (Class-A) graduate to get a job in the Oil fields? I got the part (just a few posts above this) that they will hire recent CDL grads, but how about 21 year old drivers? I reside in Downstate, NY (about 50 miles North of Scranton, PA - if that helps any on location part). I know it's not deep into PA, but it's close enough. Any and all advise and help will be more than appreciated!

a lot of insurance company will ask 25 yo, so a lot of companies hire at that age, but there are always exceptions, keep diggin' and I am sure you ll find something.

 

Thanks, man! I know there are exceptions. I am planning on going to talk to the companies, face-to-face. I've heard doing this sometimes can give you a good chance of employment, especially if they are a smaller outfit. Well, we'll see. It doesn't hurt to try!
