I hadn't decided pn the type of trucking for sure, but I am interested in getting on with Schneider. Thanks for the advice. I will start researching the companies.

I graduated from there in December 2012, and unless something's changed, pell doesn't pay for the course because its not a degree seeking course.. When I was there, my instructors were Mr. Greene, Mr. Smith, and Mrs. James.. Its a darn good place, they teach you everything you need to know, and they test you on site..

Find a company that's gonna pay you more than .26/mi to start out.. Newbie or not, that's cheap labor...

Great school. You get plenty of time on the backing course and the equipment is good. The instructors have many years experience and they tell some funny stories. They are strict but laid back.

The School uses International day cabs and two condo Freightliner Centurys and a Columbia converted for student use. I loved the Centurys they sound like turbine powered jet airplanes. They have back seats instead of bunks. They also have a couple of older Freightliner Business Class trucks with extended cabs setup for student use. One has Cummins Power and the Jake Brake sounds awesome. Those give you a good view out especially from the back seat.

The school is a great value especially with the Pell Grant and HOPE Scholarship. I only paid $136 for the course plus the funds to get my Learners Permit, Atlas and FMCSA Manual. Yeah l got the financial help but have paid over $300 in state tax alone so far this year so it is paying back.

They don't teach you to pass a test but how to drive the truck. Then you can pass any test that you take. The written tests are thorough so you have to apply yourself. It will pay off for sure. I finished with a 95 overall average and am now with a great company making good money. Feel free to ask if you have any other questions lmk. Good luck!
