WiseOne's Comments, um, I CAN understand the need to watch sex offenders, but that is somewhat on the ridiculous side in America IMHO. Why not just hang em then?

Well. Why stop there? Why not make mandatory signs for "Convicted murderer lives here" or "Convicted car thief lives here" or "Convicted rapist lives here"?
Doesn't the Constitution forbid double jeopardy? -
Assault and Batterer lives here, please knock first

Oh, I thought this was going to be about that judge in Houston that makes people carry signs that tell what crime they committed up and down the street. Like one girl's sign said "I stole someone's credit card and went on a shopping spree at Wal-Mart". And then of course everybody honks and stares...
In either case I'm glad I'm law-abiding! -
EXACTLY, IF a sex-offender has to do all that, why not STAY a sex-offender then? Might as well at that point! Certainly gives no reason to stop at that point. Better off to just hang them. I agree with you all. Double jeopardy really only means being tried twice for the same crime...but, I do see what you are saying. This sure isn't the America I knew growing up for sure. Hm, when will they start implanting chips in people next? Problem here is...if you have an 18 year old screwing a 17 year old, will their life be RUINED by having to put signs up like that? I think the freeways would be lit up with all those signs if you got down to it...

As Wiseone stated, an 18 year old who has sex with a 17 year old is considered to be a sex offender. Do you want that 18 year old sterilized? -
