Take Home...... More than likely you will be able to take the truck home.... They don't have inverters in the trucks but if you bring one and jumper cables they will install it.....

The Northeast pays a little bit better but is kinda more stressful then running the midwest. No they don't got into downtown NYC/Philly/Hartford/Boston (even tho I did use to go into smaller Boston Suburbs) but with some of the time restraints bring loads back down south can be stressful. Going up north 90% of the loads will be going to the same 7 places (Plympton, MA Albany, NY Syracuse, NY Central Islip, NY Rocky Hill, CT Jersey City, NJ and Pocomoke City, MD) and coming back will be from variety of places with a rare load from somewhere you've never picked up before every so often

Midwest will be wide open, you could drop off in Ohio, Pick Up in Indiana and End up in Kansas.... but you'll get a load a meat coming back East from one of their shippers in Kansas

If you're a rookie you're better off asking to start off running the Midwest IMO

Tide fan, grew up in Farnham, Warsaw, and left to go into the USMC. Regarding inverters, they allow up to 1500 watts.

thanks hawker, I have been a cop for nearly 15 years with a brief stint driving, in DC everyday none the less so stress is a part of my everyday, not to mention three kids. They are the reason for the career change, have to find a way to pay for their future and law enforcement/government isn't the way to go! Thanks foe the feed back. Just curious, what would a 1500 watt inverter with jumper cables set me back? Definitely want to have the ability to bring my own meals with me each week and or cook on the road.

1974 but left before graduation to go to boot camp. Regarding the inverter, at a truck stop you will pay around $150 so check amazon my type is a Power Drive, on the cables well they require either a 2 gauge or 0. This will prevent any short circuiting. This cable will be expensive as it needs to be 15' long.

Alright, I will search the net and see whats out there. I have asked Tigerhawk757 about what to expect from training and how best to prepare, ie what to bring, how to pack and the like and he has not had a chance to respond. I was hoping you would be able to shed some light on the topic for me if you get the chance. Thanks again for all you feedback, I do appreciate it.

Well, I heard from Jeanne this morning and have been offered a job. Turning my 2 weeks notice in tomorrow, drug test the following week and a tentative start date of 03/10. Turning in the gun and badge and ready to start this new career. Thanks to each of you for the input during my search.
