From Day One - Abilene Motor Express (Richmond, Wytheville, VA)

Keep me updated YardDart. I go tomorrow for drug screen and physical then I'll ride to Richmond on Sunday with a driver according to Kevin. Then I start oreintation on Monday myself. I've been looking at Abilene for a while and I'll be glad to get started.

Thanks George. I completed my drug screen and physical this morning. Going to ride to Richmond on Sunday with a regional driver and start on Monday.

Ok update. I was only one in orientation so it went really fast almost completed everything on day but two two after an hour I threw all my stuff in the back of a truck and hitched a ride with James thats a local driver. Went to Wytheville and picked up my truck. Its a 2011 volvo it has 396000 miles on it. Im tickled pink with it.But down side is they told me tbis truck will be sold this summer. This truck is in really good shape. I have go get the fuse replaced that goes to the 12volt outlets in front and on pass side some has broken the bottom of the step. Runs great.

 

Once I got the truck some what set up I got my first load from wytheville to Indianapolis, In when I got load scaled after picking up load gross weight was 79800 with 3/4 of fuel. Good thing I didn't have all my stuff in the truck or would have been ery close. So being that heavy and going up I 77 I got to see if she pulls good. I was pleasantly surprised as I still passed most trucks going uo the hills take it it was only 45mph but with I 77 and the weight. Awsome! !! My second load I dead headed to Murray, Ky and on a 3 stopper that finishes about 7 miles from my house in Oklahoma City. So I can vet the rest of my stuff on yhe truck.

 

My fleet manager is out of wythville which other drivers says is a good thing what ever that means. And when talking to Bill who does truck assignments if you pick up and del on time . Sooner rather than later you will get truck u want be it volvo, freight liner or kw. Oh and by the way I got the last open truck tuesday. But there was suppose to be a couple open this week if I understood correctly.

I just hope this company lives up to what all my research says it is.
