The per diem is already on the w-2 if you partake in the employer provided. They reduce the income.

Nope. That's the down side of company paid per deim.
However it keeps you in a lower tax bracket so if you got kids you might qualify for EIC. getting back a bigger return

You can figure out what the company paid in Per Diem and what you would have been able to claim. You can still deduct the difference.

Company Per Diem will never equal what you are allowed. If the company takes too much out, then they are dropped out of the Per Diem program.

Your pay stubs should show what they paid you in Per Diem.

Utilizing company per diem programs also eliminates the paperwork retention requirements you otherwise have to follow. One of my clients just got hit with a very large penalty and interest bill from 2010 (before he was my client) because he could not produce his logs to substantiate the deduction upon audit. Your company should also be able to provide you with a per diem letter that will list the per diem reimbursement for each tax year. If not, you should be able to recreate it from your check stubs.
