Unskilled labor is something you can learn in a few hours. Like how to work a cash register or how to make a subway sandwich. I cant think of any human being on earth that can go from never driven a truck to hooking up a set of doubles and taking them 200 miles away, break em up, put em to their doors and break the freight and then go back to base.
OPUS 7 Thanks this. -
We as professional driver's are not covered under the federal fair wage and labor act. trucking company's can pay us how/what and when they want. this has been like this since it's inception in the 1930's. my dog has more right's than I do. what a shame!

I worked city delivery and 100-mile-radius jobs, both union and nonunion. They all paid time and a half over 40, and the union jobs paid it over 8. Only mileage and percentage pay does not pay overtime.

yah! good luck with that train of thought. let's see how long you keep that job.

That is true just have to read the labor code rules. In Canada some rules are different.

I am Non-Union, and get paid Time and a half after 8 hours. My average day is 12 or 13 hours. If I did not get paid OT, I would vote for that with my feet, and go work somewhere else.
