I was just wondering how y'all are doing over there, I've been looking for a move and trans am looks good, but how are the lease drivers doing, i know how to run a truck, looking for a new challenge as long as they make it so that drivers can do well, time management, fuel mileage stuff i can do, but do they give you the miles to make money or just enough to pay for truck and fuel. I know all this has been answered but i was wondering if y'all have some updates info, thanks

If you want to do a lease, there are much better places to go to. Try Hill's brothers or even Scheinder.

Hi oliver2! Is everything alright at school? I imagine the kids are getting wound up and have spring fever.....Mine have cabin fever and spring fever! They actually can't wait to put in a little garden. Is George making it home on a pretty regular schedule ...give or take a day or two? More often than with TransAm? The King makes it home more often but it is not a regular schedule type of thing. It makes it a little harder to make any plans.
I'm glad George is enjoying his new job!
I haven't got out the tinfoil tiara yet.....but I am running out of ideas to keep the conversation going around here!:biggrin_2559:

Glad that you are both feeling better, kirk! It has to be hard going from a life of relative solitude on the road to working a ranch with your dad. You'll know when the time is right for you to go back OTR .....and everyone is right, you will have better opportunities available to you. How long can you be at home before you will need a refresher course? Six months? Can you all hire someone to help your dad with the ranch?

    kirk Thanks this.

doesn't seem to be the case

    last we heard from krazyhorsechic
she was suppose to start training but that was a while ago

I am a company driver not lease. My views on the lease program are that you can get good miles with Transam as a lease driver but the trucks are expensive. They are nice with all the extra features like APU, auto transmission, big inverters, etc but you pay full price for these features. If you take on students, run with them as semi-team, you can make money with TransAm in the lease program. If you try to do it just solo, you will mostly just be paying for the truck with little left to take home. Just IMHO.

DenaliDad, HometimeQueen and kirk Thank this.
