Sounds to me like you're making all the right steps. I can see why your most recent audit came back satisfactory. Best of luck to you and keep trying to get those scores under control, it's no easy task that's for sure.

Sorry lady, not only am I married to a driver and grew up in a truck driver family, but I work for a trucking company and have worked in safety and recruiting longer than you have been in business. Not once has one of my drivers ever gotten a violation for their license being expired, not once has one of my drivers had a violation for an expired physical. We have our own shop and every time a truck comes to the yard it is pre-tripped by a mechanic before it leaves the yard. When did your company go to e-logs there are 25 log violations on your safety record last year alone. If you are on e-logs you should have no violations if your safety department is doing what they are supposed to. Our e-log system alerts us as soon as a driver is in danger of going into violation. As far as the violation for your driver not having a CDL that's what it states on the violation it doesn't say he didn't have it in his possession, it states #1 " Violation: 383.23(a)(2) Operating a CMV without a CDL (OOS)" #2 "Violation: 391.11(b)(5) Driver lacking valid license for type vehicle being operated" (OOS)" & #3 "Violation: 391.45(b) Expired medical examiner's certificate (Non-OOS)" And those are just the violations from last year! Your safety record speaks for itself I have forgotten more about trucking than you will ever know. Because all you know is blame the driver!average joe Thanks this.

Your company has mechanics pre-trip/inspect the truck? Should would be interesting for some stats to be posted here on what they catch verus what the driver did.
Safety and recruiting background? I talked to a recruiter that kept saying cool and man.
Safety...c'mon we know all safety departments look out for the company first.
List your company and lets check it out.
I don't find it hard to believe that a driver would do a l/p or become an oo without thinking it through. Budgeting time and money is why most new ones fail. -
So what I work in safety and I call everyone dude, use cool and man. I throw out a groovy or two here and there.Dreaman and truckinmike1984 Thank this.

well, rankly, I'd say LadyR won. It's rare when someone come here to defend their company; rarer still when one participates in discourse.
Yeah, there are driver out there with expired physicals and DL's, most of which can be caught using a fairly simple Excell program. So, get crackin'.
That said, well done LadyR. Not saying you're as pure as the wind driven snow, but you had the stones to step up and say, "wait a doggone minute here"......
all drivers are victims, mostly of themselvesladr, Jaguar115 and truckinmike1984 Thank this. -
We all know you a'nt right at times. lol
