mc8541ss that's priceless information and exactly what I've wanted to hear. Right now I'm working with a small company hauling rock to platforms for the rigs and has plenty of work. He's a very upfront and honest person. Not mentioning any names but let me know what you think of these numbers. 92% of everything my rig makes I keep, fuel card that I can use if I like taken out of my check, home every night because it's local work, paid every Friday, truck wash services $55 a week, free parking for your rig at the company, small group of company drivers like the one you mentioned and O/O signed on as well and experienced drivers working with me to know what I'm getting into and to hopefully make the right decisions. What do you think of those number? Where could a set up like this go wrong and what are signs to look for? Thank you for your help!

Marmon man I don't understand what you are talking about referring to "my service". I share your pain of the injustice that has happened over here but I also came into this industry at 18 ready to go get the ones who caused 9/11. I found out it was a huge distortion hence why I'm getting out of the game and trying to find a more domestic career where I can make good money for my family and try to be a part of the ones who make our country better where it should be and not continue where we have gone. My truck may be red but it'll also be white and blue for the team I will always pull for.

I plan on getting a Class a license down at this school in San Diego after i complete one more semester at my community college.I owuldnt mind doing a one year tour in dirka dirka stan seeing as i want to buy a cattle ranch someday. Maybe, ill do two years and come back to the states, but i dont see us staying in Afhanistan very much longer even with our Commander in Chief and his jihad on America :) I did four years in the Marines myself, glad i served but dont ever want to reenlist. I was for the longest time thinking about getting a commision, but i sadi forget that i can serve America in other ways. So, i want to know just as much as you ARE THERE ANY CONTRACTORS THAT SEND RECENT CDL GRADUATES TO THE SAND BOX? IM NOT LOOKING TO GET FAMOUS LIKE MR HAMILL, JUST STACK SOME MONEY, SO WHAT WOULD BE A GOOD CONTRACTOR TO WORK WITH AS SOON AS I GET MY CDL CLASS A ?

I worked as a security contractor not as a driver. However I don't think anybody in their right mind would send a driver over just out of school. They are not likely to take the chance on you missing or grinding gears while being shot at. Not a good place to learn. Driving needs to be second nature in this part of the world. I know things have calmed down a lot and even when I was there they were using a lot of Indians and Pakistanis to do the driving. By the time I left drivers were making as much in the states as they were in Iraq. Not one to crush your dream though check out KBR and Halliburton they were the biggest outfits providing logistical support. The contract I was on required 15 years military experience. But many of the companies have different positions and contracts that all have different requirements as far a experience levels. We had Marines and Soldiers that had only 4 years experience doing other jobs. It is getting tight though. Some of the guys that I still keep in touch with have either been let go, sent to other countries or had a severe reduction in pay because of the dwindling contracts and poor economy here keeps them from wanting to come home.

92% Doesn't sound to bad but you need to know what they are making, how far they are driving, how many loads per day. How much time spent loading and unloading. And a host of other things to consider. It would help to know your cost but that will be a missing part of the formula. Even loads that pay $500 to go 60 miles can bite you in the as# if you spend to much time loading and unloading.
