Should I trade my truck in?

    Should I trade my truck in? It's a volvo 09 with isx engine and it's giving me a lot of problems. I bought it 1 yr ago for 53k I only owe 22k the truck has 578k miles with a 13 sp. I'm looking to trade to an older truck pre emissions preferred a detroit but at this point anything is better. Toughts?

    It depends on prior owner. If the prior owner took care of the truck then it may not be so much of a nightmare in repairs. Yet if you dont have the title yet it is very unlikely any lot will work with you till you have that one paid for.

    Doesn't the dealer pay off the loan? Let's say I get an 01 truck for 20k they would owe me money instead of paying me do a pay of. Is it different then when you trade a car.

    The dealer may pay it off if it is worth the payout. Yet that doesnt mean the truck is worth what you have left to pay for it. You may find that you will get that 01 at 20k + financing what was left that the dealer didnt want to float. Yet banks may not agree to the loan as the 01 may not be worth the 20k based on blue book values.

    You can ask, but personally if I were to get a pre-emission I would get last year that pre-emissions were available. 07 was the last year on non EDF crap.

    How do you plan on getting a pre emissions truck living in California?

    Are you going to move out of state or incorporate in another state and never drive the truck home?

    If your moving out of Ca. Then you might be able to get something from a California dealer as it would be hard for them to unlaod a non carb compliant truck.

    Well , I see my truck is selling around 40-50k. I don't want to owe any more money I would want an older truck and will be willing to pay more money. I thought the last yr for pre emissions was 03 after that they have egrs.
