Is that after you pay into taxes? Still trying to figure out how that works? Whats been your average MPG? Whats your average speed (slow)?Jaguar115 Thanks this. -
Ya im deadheadg 311 mi today. Last yr my deadhead was 5500 mi 117.000 loaded.

I pay my taxes at the end of the year. .I discussed that in another post. .I had a problem doing it quarterly and just pay the penalty.
My fuel mileage has been low as 6.4 and high as 8.0.. (that's off the qual comm and truck stats) And fuel mileage will make you or break you at ACT. I've added 44, 000 miles to the odometer in 4 months.. (climbed in it first week of November 2013)
My speed varies because of other drivers. .I like to run 60mph but inevitably a 60.5 mph truck will find me. . Then want to pass me. . They don't care if it takes 10 miles, they will creep up that left lane. .I usually back out of it and let them go. 63mph seems like a happy medium. .65 mph trucks can still pass but 60mph trucks stay back.
So I'm gonna try 58mph for awhile.

Where are you dead heading to? After you deliver does it set you up for another run before payroll cutoff?
-
I took a General mills load out of Kansas to Dot foods in Ardmore . Took 5 hrs to unload . Lost my Waco Tx to Ga load . So they deadheaded me to Frontenac Ks to Blue Buffalo in Monroe Oh. Appt only 1500 for Monday.

Yeah I agree, Idiots I swear 10 miles to a pass someone and two 60mph trucks one loaded and one not and they both like to Turtle Race! Some drivers have no common sense and lack of respect for others as a whole. Are you keeping a log every two weeks of your speed, weight and mpg? I am just saying the more info to have you can figure out your sweet spot and maximize fuel efficiency. I am well aware fuel economy can be a major player from signing the back of checks or the front of checks. I'll keep following you and see where this goes in the next couple months.

I just dead headed 848 miles the other day from Denver Colorado to Fargo North Dakota.yesterday I dead headed 245 miles from Findlay Ohio to Chicago
-
Live unload in Ardmore? There must not have been any empty trailers? I've always dropped there, And usually early.
-
According to KW and Mike (who I trust) at ACT. .58 mph is the spot that will give me my best fuel economy. .I like 60, the truck isn't struggling and the engine isn't racing. .I just hate the 60.5mph trucks.
