I just graduated from a school that says that I will be recognized as having the equivalent of 2 to 3 years of safe driving experience. Is this considered by perspective employers? is it bull? can I tell an employer that when applying? will it help me get a job? and/or in the oil fields etc...?

That is pure BS they are just blowing smoke. I instructed at one of the best CDL schools for 5 years that was PTDI certified and we made no such claims. If you want credit for 3 years safe driving it has to come from your employer after you drive for 3 years and get the award.

I just notice you are in Canada, might be different, but I doubt it. Then again maybe you are not from Canada.

What matters is whether insurance companies recognize it.

BS is this….tell an employer and they will laugh you right out the door, I know I would. It's already been said, safe driving comes from experience on the road.

    Screw TTC,

If it's anything like the joke of a place in North Bay where I did my training prepare to enter the trucking world and have to teach yourself everything basically.

Yeah, there was a "training" school out of Cranbrook, that offered "mountain certification" after one trip up the Creston- Salmo and back. If ever there needed to be an apprenticeship trade truck driving is it. I know that if somebody told me that they had 3 years of experience, but only had the certificate for a couple of months ('cause you need to see an abstract to comply with NSC and even if you didn't you should ), I would show them the door.

maybe one certain company sees this schools training as the equivalent. but mostly that sounds like BS.
