I am in South Korea and will be coming to the Indianapolis area first 2 weeks of July for a vacation.
I am thinking about getting into trucking and have never been in a truck and wondered if anyone in the area can have a rider. I would like to go on a trip for just one day or maybe even overnight.
This might be something that can't be done for insurance reasons or company policy but just thought I would ask.
i am going to check out a few driving schools also in the area if anyone knows of a good one please share.
Don't really know any truckers here in Korea.
Thanks
Looking for someone to ride along with for a short trip ( Indiana )

Does'nt hurt to ask.I would from time to time make sure to keep this thread open. After so long they tend to get buried under other threads.
dennisroc Thanks this. -
Insurance reasons may hold you back.

Dennis for some reason my PMs are not working but let me know closer to the time. I am not in Indianapolis as I am over the road but it might be more what you are wanting. Plus as a former J3 owner we won't run out of stuff to talk about.

Sounds good Wooly, I will check back when the time gets closer. Do you still fly ?
Maybe if you are close to Indianapolis I can fly there to meet and maybe do a short trip. I will probably just be home for about 17 days but if it works out that would be cool. I have a lot of stuff I want to do when I get back there but schedule is very flexible. -
Maybe by July the snow will clear up too if everyone is lucky.

Yea, let's let a complete stranger in are truck. You don't know this dude from jack, there is more than one reason why trucking companies insurance don't like it. -
I am sure we would talk and meet before anything happened.
Sometime you can tell a lot about a person just by the way they reply -
Most trucking companies have rider policies so insu rance shouldn't be issue. They are usually pretty cheap. If you are seriously thinking about an otr job, and not sure if it's for you however, one or two days on a ride along won't begin to give you a good feel for it imo. From what it sounds like, you're going to be on leave before you ets? If at all possible, especially before you pay for a driving school, go out a couple weeks at least with someone. Even at that, driving solo is a bit different from teams. You really have to enjoy your own company
