I have an espar heater as part of a TK tripac unit. got it back about 6 years ago.
the problem i have is that it doesnt slow down or slack off or turn off when it gets up to the set temperature.
right now, My inside temp according to the reading on the tripac unit is 78 deg F. the temp setting is set to 60 deg F.
and the unit is pumping out all the hot air it can manage?
I talked to one TK dealer and he couldnt imagine it would do such a thing. go figure ?
what do i need to do to convince him, make a video ?

my temperature sensor on the tripac unit is out in the open and not up against a wall such that it is reading the ambient air temp of 78 deg as i say. so it should be sending a signal to the thing to wind down. but it isnt. i have tried changing the set temp a degree or two but doesnt seem to make a diff.

    what to do ?

It may depend on what model, or how new your TriPac is. On the older model I had, from '07, the temp sensor on the control board/console controlled the bunk heater, and mine was close to the side wall and would roast me out of the truck when it was extremely cold, as it was conducting cold from the wall and not sensing the warm air. I would have it set anywhere from 57 to a max of 60.

On the new Evolution model I just got, it says that the temperature sensor on the control panel does NOT have anything to do with the bunk heater, and it is all controlled by sensors inside of the heater itself. So I have had the exact opposite experience with it, due to low air flow, it thinks it is warm, but I get cold up in the bunk.

The temp sensor for the espar heaters are on the unit entry as where it sucks the air in not on the wall that is for the A/C. If your inlet duct is not plumbed into the cab area it is pulling cold air from under the bunk which warms up a lot slower that the living area, I set mine on 50-55 deg. and if it gets to hot I open the side vent alittle

thanks, so the sensor for the espar is in the intake of the espar under the bunk.
the design engineer wasnt thinking .. go figure.
