I havn't read the whole thread word for word so I don't know who said Roehl was "preying" drivers. That's not what Roehl is doing. They are simply taking advantage of drivers who don't know the rules (and wouldn't tell me when I asked). And as far as working out the bugs let me clarify why this statement is false. When I call Gary and asked them about the rules, they gave me straight forward simple answers. These work rules are simple so I asked them why Marshfield, the home office, doesn't know them. His answer was that Marshfield is on board should know this stuff because all managers were required to go through training on this program. His answer was basically "B.S. were all on the same sheet of music. They know the rules, you have to call them on it."
It's pretty clear what's goinig on. My manager sees an oportunity to save the company a little doe on me and some others I've talked to and have decided to steal from us. Now for all of you saying "what's the problem," what do think Roehl would do to me if they caught me stealing from them?

This industry as a whole preys on individuals; we allow and tolerate it for the sake of a means to support our families. At what point did drivers grow so numb to how this industry has evolved into a revolving door of empty promises and lies that we call a very mediocre company a "good" one"? My situation is far better than some, probably not as good as others, but, come on. Lets be real. This industry, as a whole, preys on individuals on an hourly basis.

Taking advantage of people and preying on people are two different things, in my opinion. I understand where you feel you have been wronged, and indeed it seems you were. I just think that all things said and done, Roehl is a decent company, with decent people, and a decent idea with the Honor Program. The "bugs" my not be with only the Honor Program but with some of the individuals in planner/DSR positions; every company is going to have them. When the claim is made that Roehl is preying on veterans, it seems like conspiracy theory about a Board of Shadow Figures sitting around a dark lit conference room in Marshfield, trying to figure new and clever ways to screw people. I doubt that is the case. I think this program is a great way to learn the industry, while having a fairly reliable income.

If it looks like a duck and walks like a duck...
It is pretty bad to have a dispathcher playing fast and loose with a man paycheck veteran or not. If it was an honest mistake then fine it was brought to the dispatchers attention and should never happen again. If it happens again then...If it looks like a duck, well you know. -
