Picked Brat up yesterday evening, 6 new injectors! Woohoo!

This morning, I drove 63 miles to pick up an empty, to go 2 exits away from where I was (!) to get loaded. Got a nice, newer trailer, great shape, everything worked. Got to my PU, it's a drop & hook. Ok, that's even better! Except the landing gear was frozen to the ground and I think I exceeded my exercise limit for the day cranking it up! Headed somewhere warmish, so I'm not complaing. Stopped early, to make sure I could find a place, only 345 miles today. Early start tomorrow...enjoyed my first full day as a trucker :)

More details later, when I have wi-fi. I hate typing on my phone...

Lonesome, sadwar and dieselfuelonly Thank this.

Next time you noticed the landing is frozen to the ground lower the trailer then back up under it and the force will free it up. That will also make it easier to raise the legs on a heavy loads.

    mickimause Thanks this.

Provided you can still get under the trailer. I made the mistake once of doing that but didn't have enough traction to get under the trailer. Ended up having to raise the nose of the trailer to get hooked.

I got under it okay...I don't think your trick would have worked this time, moosc; the trailer was backed up to a huge pile of snow/ice. I will remember it, though!

I hope these show up. Trying to do this from my phone because I am too cheap to pay for wifi at the Pilot. Also, I am exhausted...

Oh, there was a live unload and a live load in there, too. They were quick!

good run, be careful though, don't explore the dark side of a 11/14 violation:biggrin_25525:, I've made that mistake b4:biggrin_25512:

Did you have prior exp? How long did you ride with a trainer after orientation? Im looking at getting my cdl and like how everyone is saying Schneider retreats them.

Hey Micki, been great following your threads because I am 5-6 weeks behind you in hopefully starting with Schneider. Starting Cdl school Monday with 15+yrs experience driving class b Concrete mixers. I have driven combo's before but been so many years and got schooling at a bargain price, and school makes it easier to get on with a bigger company. So, from what I remember you are brand new to any type of trucking? Wondering what has been the hardest thing for you thus far? What can you tell me about the "un-obvious things" of the training in Green Bay?

I don't intend to! Knew exactly where I wanted to stop, and based on previous experience (I stopped there the night before - lol), I was almost positive there would be plenty of parking. I was right :biggrin_25525:

No previous experience at all. My school was very condensed, so I didn't have much to un-learn when I got to Green Bay. So far, I am impressed with Schneider. Very professional, safety focused, and I feel like everyone wants me to do well. Good luck!!
