I haven't drove in 7 years and I'm getting back into it now.I have been researching companies for about a month now and it's down to Western or C.R. EnglandThey are the only ones that have said I can come and get in a refresher course and start driving after training.Everywhere else you have to have recent experience. I would like some advice and I want to know which company everyone else would pick?Maybe it will help me make up my mind. Thanks alot
Western Express or Central Refrigerated?

I don't know why I titled the thread Central Refrigerated.I'm trying to pick from Western or C.R. England

Lots of NEGATIVE POSTS about both companies on here

Yea I noticed that, that's what makes me nervous

Both wanted me to do a refresher course(company I finally decided on isn't requiring one). Western Express - 2 weeks. CR England - 10 days + 30 days phase 1 + 30 days phase 2 = 70 days of training. Advantage Western Express.
Leasing and training. Western Express as far as I know doesn't have a lease program or if they do they don't push it. CR England on the other hand does and will hold you hostage without work because "they are out of company trucks" in an effort to get you to lease. CR England will also push you hard to train newbies as well. Advantage Western Express.
They will probably both suck to work for, but if they are your two choices I'm pretty sure that Western Express will suck a lot less.blairandgretchen and 14trucker Thank this. -
rda2580, Toomanybikes and blairandgretchen Thank this.

My Son got the bright idea a company would treat him better than I could. He went to CR Slaveland and came back after a few weeks. You are just a number to them, and Truck drivers there aren't the same species as Corporate people or the Recruiters. I've seen Western trucks and their drivers before and they probably do suck alot less
14trucker Thanks this. -
I know this is probably the same as western and england but covenant transport does a refresher course as well. covenant is team based however but maybe it might work out for you? check them out
