The idle sensor on our Volvos is just under the radiator. If you look into the lower half of the grill in the center. You will see a wire and a green plastic part there. Great place to put an ambient temp sensor huh? It will not idle above 35 or below 65. And if you wedge the pedal it will only last an hour. I heard that from someone....

Yes let's put a temp sensor next to a hot object. And they say we're dumb in the south.... But basically no idle between 35 and 65?

Correct. Thats the no idle zone. Try to park facing into the wind if possible it helps a little. It is a regular occurrence for it to be 22degrees outside and without fail the temp sensor readings will continue upward until idle cutoff. The KW sensor is on the bottom of the drivers side mirror. Thats actually intelligent. No clue on Mack or Freightliner where its located. Volvo got a bunch right with these tractors but they get the EPIC FAIL!!!! on the temp sensor placement. Must have been the engineers getting high on glue then designing it....

SITTING up here in Hartford, Ct. Ran out of my 14 while waiting to get unloaded. I did get my first check from Abilene and I was surprised just how much those ne runs add up. It makes coming up here not so painful. Only have 6 hts on my 70 and only pick up 6 hrs each for the next 2 days. We have got to get rid of the 666 theme that seems to be going on right now. But I thank my Lord Jesus Christ for with him all things are possible. Be safe all.
